How Do I Create My Best Life Part 2

Sep 21, 2021

I am really excited to continue our conversation about the question: How do I create my best life?  Last week, we covered the six points of how to create your best life, here they are for a quick review:

The Six Steps to Creating Your Best Life

  1. Experience the Creator
  2. Learn that You Are a Creator
  3. Learn How Creation Works
  4. Write Out What it is that You Want to Create
  5. Daily Activation of the Laws of Creation
  6. Repeat Over & Over Again

And I know that the last time we spent the entirety of the blog on the first one, but I cannot simply express how important that one is to all the rest. Let’s jump into number two:

Learn that You Are a Creator

One of the key pieces that you need to understand to this whole process is that you are a creator.

 Psalm 82

1 GOD STANDS in the assembly [of the representatives] of God; in the midst of the magistrates or judges He gives judgment [as] among the gods. 2 How long will you [magistrates or judges] judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! 3 Do justice to the weak (poor) and fatherless; maintain the rights of the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy; rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 [The magistrates and judges] know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in the darkness [of complacent satisfaction]; all the foundations of the earth [the fundamental principles upon which rests the administration of justice] are shaking.

6 I said, You are gods [since you judge on My behalf, as My representatives]; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High. 7 But you shall die as men and fall as one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth! For to You belong all the nations.

As I have mentioned before, Psalm 82 is what we call the co-creation chapter. This chapter really brings together the reality that God and you have the elements to do and to be involved with creating your best life. I don’t live my life with a hands-off approach to take whatever is God will… that whatever is going to happen is going to happen kind of mentality is not God’s will. We have our part to play in the process of creating our best life, as well.

Learn How Creation Works

And it is very important for us to understand that step three is really learning how creation works. We go into the elements of the laws of creation. God says in Psalms 82 that you are a god, which in Hebrew is the word Elohim, which is creator. In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth… and YOU and I were created in HIS IMAGE to CREATE. So if that is the truth, then what is my part to play in it? How do I create? There are rules of creation. And we can go back to the very beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, how did He do that? And do the rules He used then still apply? And if I know and understand those rules, then how do I take them and apply those to my life? I need to understand that I’m a creator and then how creation works.

What is the power of my thought life?

What is the power of the words that speak out of my life?

What is the power of my actions?

What is the power of being intentional in my life versus just reactive?

Write Out What YOU Want to Create

I’m going to spend a little bit more time with this one, the fourth step of creating your best life because this is one of those elements that I find most people are very sloppy about what they want in their lives. They just react to whatever is thrown at them from the time they are born to the time they die.

If I am going to create my best life, I need to have a blueprint that has all the pieces that I want in my life laid out so that I understand what my best life would be. So take a minute today and write out some very specific pieces.

What is it that I would like to see in my best life?

And that question just scratches the surface, in our book Creating Your Best Life (which is now available on Amazon) we walk through an entire chapter on the Creating Your Best Life Blueprint. And there are specific elements that you want to be aware of within the book to implement.

Think about it, if I’m building a house, I have to have a blueprint… and I will get together with an architect. My wife and I put together a blueprint. And when we build homes, that goes to the architect and they go to the builder who then builds, right?

You as the person wanting to create your best life, what is your blueprint? What have you written out to proclaim; this is what I want to see happen in my life. What you want to do is you want to do that both from a long-term perspective and an annual perspective. Why? Because if there is a certain place I would like to be by the end of my life; how do I end up getting there? How do I build my best life? Write it out.

Begin to Activate the Laws of Creation

Do you know God put these laws of creation into place as a man thinks. Hebrews 11, one faith gives us the title deed to whatever it is that we are confidently expecting. SO how do I put hope, Biblical hope: confident expectation to work for me to create my best life? The thoughts, feelings, and the words that I speak have power.

In chapter 3, verse 30 it says, “And to him who is able to give us exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask, think or image…” So the question is, WHAT ARE WE ASKING FOR? WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FOR?

Think: Stop for a Moment and ask yourself this question: What do you spend most of your time thinking about - is it worst case scenarios? Is it fear-based or is it faith-based? When was the last time you paused and thought about or imagined, What does my best life look like? We go into depth in our book on the power of the imagination and the most successful business people and people of faith and the bases of their accomplishments is imagining what is. Those are the laws that come into play!

Repeat it Over & Over Again

What I find is that people want to create this life, they easily get motivated to start and then after some time goes by… they begin to quit. You have to choose daily that this is something you are going to commit to, for the rest of your life. And as we continue these blogs, we will cover how repetition is critical in rewiring your confident expectation. If you were born with a thought process of lack or defeat and that has been blueprinted in you, it’s going to be a long series of repetition that will rewire the subconscious to now. So that you are rewired with the expectation that good things will happen to me. It is one of my favorite things that I teach in this book! It’s out of Psalms 23, “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.”

And you know what, today is one of those days. So many good things are coming your way. So what are you expecting to come your way as you begin this wonderful journey of creating your best life?
